Blog Superlative–Most Read

We decided to end the year with our blog superlatives.  Our winners were selected by our social media team after a very lengthy nomination process.  Each day this week, we’ll share one of our superlative winners.  Please feel free to share your comments below as we’d like to hear if we voted for your choice!

So, our next superlative winner is me for my blog entry “Remembering September 11th.”  This one was easy because the statistics pointed to the most views for the year (I’m patting myself on the back this very moment!).  Read on…

It was one of those days that all of us can say where we were and what we were doing when we heard the news.  Personally, I was walking into my Spanish class at the University of Maryland.  As I stood in the hall with my classmates waiting for our classroom door to open, another student asked if we had heard what happened.  It sounded made up, but then I quickly realized it was too disturbing to be a lie.  Dazed, I remember walking back to my apartment and turning on the TV and watching the news for hours, well into the night.  I think that was the most amount of news I watched in four years at college.

As we all reflect this year on the 10th Anniversary of such a tragic day, perhaps it’s cathartic to share where we were, who we were with and what we’ll remember most. September 11th was certainly a time Americans will never forget–the tragedy of lives lost, the heroes who sacrificed their lives to save others, and the true patriotic spirit which emerged on the days that followed.

If you feel the need to share where you were, who you were with or what you’ll remember most, please feel free to do so below.  There are also places online, like the Remembering 9/11 Facebook page, where you can post or read what others want to share about September 11th.
