Impact of Being Young & Free

Darryl Grab your reading glasses and buckle your seat belts because here…we…go…

Win or lose, this competition has positively impacted my life in so many ways. It has made me, an already extremely outgoing individual, want to go the extra mile to meet as many new people as I can. It has reunited me with old friends and I’ve made many new friendships in a short period of time.

The Young & Free competition has broken up the monotony of my day. Prior to being a contestant in this competition I would wake up, go to work, come home, eat dinner, sleep, and repeat. It has given me the opportunity to flex my creative muscles every single day, which is something that has sadly slipped away since I entered the work force after graduation. While going through this application process I have done nothing but work from nine to six every day, only to come home and work on my campaign until at least two in the morning. Although I was tired the next day, I was just as excited and ready to create as the day before.

These past few weeks have presented me with the opportunity to be passionate about something new: this competition. I have never worked so hard for a single thing in my life. Whether or not I get this position, all the work I have put in has been completely worth it and I thank South Carolina Federal Credit Union for reminding me what it means to be Young and Free!
