A few weeks ago, I got my homeowner’s insurance renewal packet. I had to take a triple look at the annual premium as it was quite a high amount! How much? Ok, since you asked (LOL!) I will tell you. It was a little over $1,400! Yikes! I immediately started shopping around. I simply shared my declaration pages with some insurers and within a day or two, I got a quote for $844! Wow! Not only was the price almost $600 less, but the policy covered more than my current policy! More coverage for less money! You can’t beat that!
I’m glad that I didn’t simply accept my renewal offer. Some people don’t shop around out of lack of information or they assume that it might be too much of a headache. With the right agent, the process should be smooth!
I encourage all of you out there reading this post today to take a second look at your premiums whether it be your homeowner’s insurance, car insurance, life insurance, etc… If I wouldn’t have shopped around, I would be paying $600 more a year which equals $50 a month (that’s my cable bill!)
