Move the clock one hour forward / backward?

Are you ready to adjust your clock? Do we adjust it forward, backward, one hour more, one hour less? Ah! Confusing, right? Most of us are accustomed to changing our clocks sometime in October, but for 2011, it’s the night of Saturday, November 5th / the day of Sunday, November 6th. We get one hour more to sleep, but it also gets dark earlier. With the fair coming soon, some people like it getting darker sooner and others like me, would prefer to have more daylight. I like DST in March because I feel like I have more time to enjoy my day after work, but DST in November makes me feel like I need to go home and go to sleep because it is already night time.

Which DST period do you like best? Do you wish they would just leave it alone?

I'm a wife and mother and I'm originally from Charleston, SC. I am a graduate of Trident Technical College and Charleston Southern University. My mother is from Chile, South America and she taught me how to read, write, translate and speak Spanish fluently. I feel blessed to know two languages! I enjoy reading about medical and financial news, swimming at the pool, spending time with family and friends and trying out new foods!

Id say leave it alone. But I do like the extra hour of day light in the fall. Daylight savings time goes like this, in the spring, time springs ahead an hour, in the fall, time falls back an hour. Who came up with the idea anyway. And why did the government, when George Bush was in office, change the daylight savings time anyway.

I think it had something to do with agriculture…farmers needing it to be light outside earlier in the morning during harvest season. I may be making this up so would encourage others to do some digging on the subject :)
