Miriam’s Dream. Brought to fruition by Pinterest

Today’s Guest Blogger is Miriam, a Teller with South Carolina Federal Credit Union:

If you are like me, you have a recent addiction. Mine comes in the form of Pinterest.com, an online site that allows you to pin whatever site page you find on the internet to your own interest page.

I have so many do-it-yourself pins that I am not quite sure where to start. I can sit for hours at the computer, walk away, and feel as if I have accomplished some sort of crafty task…although I have accomplished nothing but a pile of laundry that won’t fold itself.

Now, the larger issue is that all of those do-it-yourself ideas cost money. Some of them are cheap, while others require a much larger budget. I can dream up ideas of how I want my living room or bedroom to look like, and be left lost to the dream when I see that I spent my budget on something else.

So in order to become the craft expert, I opened a Dream Club account here at South Carolina Federal Credit Union. The Dream Club is an account that I can deposit money into and as it grows, I can reap the benefits. It gives me great satisfaction to see my account balance grow each time I make a deposit and I know that the homemade-ruffled quilt, that I am sure is much harder to make than it looks, will soon be a pile of sewn fabric sitting on my dining room table.

So it is true, having that Dream Club account does make dreams come true…or at least it begins the reality of my becoming a design star.

I am very excited to report that I did sew my daughter, Elle, a ruffle skirt and matching shirt, pattern tutorial via Pinterest. She wore it to school the next day and I finally had some bragging rights…yes, I did brag about my sewing talent to other parents. I was SEW proud!!!
