I’m a Turbo Tax fan for sure, but due to all the changes in my family’s life in 2011, I’ll be visiting a tax professional this year. It’s always nice to have options and everyone’s situation is different.
For those of us who just want the Life Simplified way of doing taxes–online, by yourself, inexpensive and easy–Turbo Tax is for you (check out Kevin’s blog post from April 2011). However, my Life Simplified version this year will be bringing in all of my documents here at our Rivers Avenue location and meeting with a Certified Public Accountant from Greene, Finney & Horton.
Many of our members are familiar with Turbo Tax being integrated with Online Banking. You actually can’t seem to avoid the message every time you sign in to Online Banking this time of year. “My Turbo Tax” is calling on you to click it every time you sign in and then it even welcomes you back by name.
For those of you more like me in 2011, you may want to meet with a professional face-to-face. South Carolina Financial Solutions has engaged the services of Greene, Finney & Horton, a local CPA firm, to assist our South Carolina Federal Credit Union members with filing their tax returns. The CPAs will be available by appointment and will meet with members at South Carolina Federal’s headquarters on Rivers Avenue in North Charleston. This will most likely be a more expensive option, but for me, this year, this is what I need.
Let me know which option you’ll be using this tax season and why. I’ll most likely be back to Turbo Tax next year, but then again it may depend on how big that tax refund is (oh, please let there be a tax refund)!

Nice post jessica……
